Any disability either physical or economic or social can not be a handicap or hindrance to any achievement, any accomplishment, any attainment.

Dawn of a new era kicked off with grabbing of the first position by Ira Singhal (31) who suffers from 62% physical disability due to Noonan Syndrome - a congenital disorder leading to skeleton malformation. She cracked the exams in 2010, 2011 & 2013, only to be denied a posting by Department of Personnel & Training (DOPT) due to her "disability" but finally her appeal upheld by Central Administrative Tribunal.Success story of Ira is the burning example of continuous limitless struggle & boundless determination. Merely 15 days ago Beno Zephine became the first 100% blind Indian Foreign Service (IFS) after long battle.
An AIIMS doctor Sahil Kumar from Ludhiana, Punjab who had nerve palsy in his right hand after an accident and taught himself to write again with his left hand starting with A,B,C secured 447th rank in the Civil Services examination

Among toppers there are kids of Tamil Nadu cabbie & farmer. From herding cattle to top bureaucrat C Vanmathi, daughter of a paralyzed cab driver secured the 152nd rank in the Civil Services exam. Her father not well educated and mother did not go to school. Coming from a family of cattle-rearers she used to sit on the back of a buffalo imagining herself to be a collector. From a farmer's family S Rajesh Kannan ranked 767th, did not have it easy either.
