BACL ( Bengaluru Airport City Limited) has appointed DP Architects Singapore & Portland Design UK as architectural consultants for the integrated Retail-Dining-Entertainment (RDE) Village project. This is being developed at BLR Airport as part of the Airport City.

Bengaluru Airport City Limited (BACL) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bangalore International Airport Limited ( BIAL).


RDE Village is built on the vision of creating a retail and lifestyle destination. Set within a high energy, bustling buzzing Airport environment,  the village is expected to cater to the millennial mindset that is mindset relating to a period of a thousand years. This development is envisioned to have an open fluid environment that seamlessly links multiple zones, through interactive and sensory experiences that encourage longer dwell time and repeat  visits .





The state-of-the-art project would be strategically  located adjacent to the Concert Arena, and the Convention  & Exhibition Centre - a destination which would become a dynamic lifestyle and family entertainment hub for Bengaluru residents and visitors alike.

The project will be developed on a 23 acre land, as  high-end shopping and lifestyle destination, catering to the growing demand of this segment in Bengaluru. Connectivity to the RDE village will be augmented by the BMTC bus service and the upcoming Metro lines.

Commenting on the development, CEO BACL, Mr Rao Munukutla said " We are delighted  to partner with DP Architects Singapore & Portland Design UK who are world leaders in Retail, Dining & Entertainment spaces. The RDE Village is built on the vision of creating a new destination with a deep connection to the community, culture and environment, focusing on human-centric design."

" In our design of RDE Village, we wanted to push for an architectural scheme beyond simply delivering a context, community and climate-responsive design," says  AR Angelene Chan, Chairman of DP Architects.

Stephen Walsh, the Regional Director for Portland Design said," The RDE Village will be a transformative shopping, dining, and entertainment experience for the communities it will serve in Bengaluru and beyond."

RDE Village will be distinguished through unique experiences like never before. This development will bring unforgettable, distinctive and outstanding global experiences like Las Vegas, Marina Bay Sands Singapore, Times Square New York etc. to Bengaluru.

RDE Village  is set to become THE destination for not just the city of Bengaluru, but as a place of interest for the country as well. Not only this. It seeks to make Bengaluru as a "Vibrant Capital of India", besides being known as the "Knowledge Capital of India."

आखिर पश्चिम चम्पारण के थारू क्यों करने लगे हैं औषधीय पौधों की खेती ?| Tharus of West Champaran









ये जो  क्षेत्र आप देख रहे हैं वह पश्चिम चम्पारण के थारू आदिवासियों का क्षेत्र है।  मनमोहक है न ! मनभावक है न ! यह हिमालय की तलहटी में बसा है। 

थारू आदिवासी बासमती धान की खेती करते हैं, मिर्चा व  आनन्दी धान की खेती करते हैं।  ये सभी धान सुगन्धित होते हैं, देश-विदेश में प्रचलित हैं।  आनन्दी चावल का भूजा बहुत ही स्वादिष्ट होता है।  थारू जनजाति अद्भुत है थरुहट क्षेत्र भी अद्भुत। 

आपको बता दूँ बखरी बाजार के एक थारू हैं योगेन्द्र प्रसाद महतो - इनको 400 से अधिक औषधीय पौधों की जानकारी है और  ये अपनी बारी में अनेक औषधीय पौधे लगाए हुए हैं। 

अब थारू लोग औषधीय पौधों की खेती भी करने लगे हैं - पर यह परिवर्तन क्यों ? 

असल में बात ये है कि जंगल के बीच में रहनेवाले  थारुओं की फसल को सबसे अधिक नुकसान वन्यजीवों से होता है।  सुगन्धित धान की प्रजाति को नीलगाय, हिरन, भालू आदि व्यापक पैमाने पर बर्बाद कर देते हैं जिससे थारुओं की स्थिति अत्यंत दयनीय होती जा रही है। 

यही कारण है कि थारू जनजातियों का झुकाव अब औषधीय फसलों की खेती की  ओर हो रहा है।इन फसलों को जैसे लेमन ग्रास, मशरूम, मेंथा या पिपरमिंट को जंगली  जानवर क्षति नहीं पहुँचाते हैं।  साथ ही इनसे अच्छी आमदनी हो रही है - और प्रशासन भी सहयोग व प्रोत्साहन दे रहा है। 

 तो पश्चिम चम्पारण के थारू आदिवासी  जंगल के भीतर ही खेती के बेहतर विकल्प की खोज कर रहे हैं, औषधीय पौधों की खेती कर रहे हैं। 
साथ ही पर्यटकों के लिए भोजन एवं आवास की व्यवस्था करके भी थारू अर्थार्जन कर रहे हैं, आर्थिक लाभ कमा रहे हैं।

PHDCCI stands for 'Progress, Harmony, Development Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

PHDCCI organized 116th Annual Session Meeting in hybrid mode that is physical as well as virtual mode with a theme "Resilient India" at Hotel Taj Palace, New Delhi on 30th September 2021.

The year 2020 has been an unprecedented year for India with the outbreak of Covid-19. This wreaked a havoc on not just human lives but even the Indian economy.

However, in the face of this adversity, the Indian government has shown immense strength and robustness. 116th Annual Session of PHDCCI was organized to throw light on measures taken to restore the Indian economy to pre - pandemic levels by the Union Government in tandem with Defence Forces .

The Chief Guest for the occasion was Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari . In his address he stated that the aim is to make India a global power in using green fuel by 2024 . Further he discussed plans for making Delhi a clean and green city by promoting green fuels such as ethanol, LNG, Bio CNG and green Hydrogen.

The inaugural session was presided over by the Chief of Army Staff General Manoj Mukund Narvane .

Apart from Corporate CEOs , well known economists and Chief Ministers of States Union Minister Smriti Irani and Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia also participated in the event .
The inaugural session opened with welcome address of Shri Sanjay Aggrawal the then President pf PHDCCI. The session concluded with the release of the 116th Year Book and the annual report by PHDCCI, followed by a vote of thanks by Shri Pradeep Multani now President of PHDCCI.
The event ended with a vote of thanks by Shri Saket Dalmia now Sr Vice President of PHDCCI .
On the whole the event with six sessions was very successful and very fruitful, and well organized & well managed also .
