30TH JULY 2015 ,TWO EXTREME PERSONALITIES,TWO HISTORIC FUNERALS

30TH JULY 2015 ,TWO EXTREME PERSONALITIES
TWO HISTORIC FUNERALS

What a historic day? What a historic coincidence?

What  historic extreme personalities? And what  historic funerals?

30th July 2015 has now become a historic day as on this day two extreme personalities, one representing godliness and the other devilishness,  of this country were laid to rest.

FRIEND OF HUMANITY

The first such personality is Dr A P J Abdul Kalam - the people's President (11th President of India), the missile man, the great Scientist, the great visionary, embodiment of "simple living & high thinking", the mobile man who continued on   touring the whole country for addressing the youth till the last moment of his life, burning example of "a man who practices what he preaches", a powerful orator, a great author and above all a great human being. A personality who dreamed of making India powerful, making India dynamic, making India energetic, making India world's Guru. After a gap of many decades we have a President who galvanized the whole country, who energized the whole country, who molded & shaped the thinking of the youth & ignited their minds and we have a President who was accessible to every citizen of the country and inspiration for all.

Our beloved former President Dr A P J Abdul Kalam breathed his last on 27th July 2015 in Shillong while addressing students of a management institute but he has immortalized himself by becoming dear to everyone irrespective of caste, class, age, sex, community, region, religion or boundary. He was buried with full state honours at a public ground  in Rameshwaram town as per his wishes on 30th July 2015.

FOE OF HUMANITY

On the other hand is another  extreme personality who will be remembered as a terrorist & traitor, a person who aided & abetted the serial bomb blasts in 1993 in which hundreds of people including women & children killed or left injured thus destroying many families, working for disintegration of the country. Judiciary of India has to take more than two decades to come to the conclusion that Yakub Memon "deserves to be hanged". For the first time in the history of Judiciary of the country nay world  the highest institution of justice, Supreme Court heard the mercy petition in the middle of the night. He was hanged at 7.00 am on 30th July 2015 the day he was born in 1962.

WILL "MASS ANIMAL SLAUGHTER" BAN IN NEPAL INSPIRE OTHER RELIGIONS TOO ?

WILL "MASS ANIMAL SLAUGHTER" BAN IN NEPAL INSPIRE OTHER RELIGIONS TOO?

As the news spread across the globe  that Nepal has banned mass animal slaughter, this might has come as a great relief not only to animal lovers or activists  but also to  all the sensitive human beings like me who are kind- hearted. Killing innocent animals on the pretext  of pleasing god is not at all acceptable.

Nepalese temple authorities have declared  that they are going to end a centuries-old Hindu tradition of mass animal slaughter. Gadhimai festival is held every five years in Nepal to attract 2.5 million Hindu worshippers and thousands of animals are sacrificed on this occasion  in the hope of appeasing the  Hindu goddess of power, Gadhimai.

Shri Motilal Prasad, Secretary of Gadhimai Temple trust has categorically said that they have decided to completely stop the practice of animal sacrifice realizing that animals are so much like us - they feel the same pain as the human beings. Estimated 2,00,000 animals are killed in Gadhimai festival.

It was not easy to end a 400-year old custom. It took more than 400 years to convince the people that there is no need to sacrifice the animals to please the goddess. This is really a historic and tradition - breaking step.

Followers of a particular religion put forward the argument that to please the God we need to sacrifice a person who is near & dear. But who is more dear than one's son? Then why not son is sacrificed ? Why in his place innocent, voiceless, helpless, hapless goats are butchered or killed slowly-slowly? Why not lion is sacrificed ? It is argued that this is done to control the population of the goats. Then why not sacrifice human beings on the same ground?

Tradition may have come down due to, may be any incident and the same may have been interpreted to justify.  But such traditions can be broken if not  found suitable or reasonable on the ground of sensitivity or kindness as in the case of Nepal. There is no ground or valid reason to kill innocent animals. No sensitive human being will do this. Only cruel, barbaric, inhuman , bloodthirsty, barbarous, savage will.

A religion can grow only when there is healthy discussion, healthy reasoning, healthy discourses.Wrong tradition is broken or removed and constant and continuous transformation are  brought about wiping out superstitions & fundamentalist attitudes, which are not based on humanitarianism, pity, compassion & kind-heartedness.

But religions which do not discuss, do not do purging, cannot grow, get stagnated &  become fanatic, barbaric, barbarous, inhuman, fundamentalist, cruel, zealot.

Let good sense prevail upon all human beings & religions. Be thirsty of love , of affection, of kindness, of humaneness , not of blood, not of any one's life -human or animal or for that matter any living being.

METALLED ROAD CONNECTIVITY IN THARUHAT OF WEST CHAMPARAN BIHAR

Video uploaded by Dr Ajay Kumar Ojha

This video clip "From the Eyes of Dr Ajay Kumar Ojha"shows  its viewers  that  Tharuhat of West Champaran has now been connected with good, motorable, metalled road thus making the movement in this backward & neglected area easy & smooth. The Tharu tribe of this area has long been neglected & massively exploited. When I first visited this area in 1988 there was no mode of transport except sometimes seen tonga. There were no proper bridges  nay even  bridges on the unmetalled uneven bumpy  roads . In the rainy season the area got completely cut off from the nearby towns thus making the life miserable even for day to day requirements. I had to face such situation at times during my months long stay in a tribal hut in Bakhari Bazaar for my PhD thesis so I had the personal experience of untold pain &  limitless sufferings these simple & innocent tribe had been undergoing. This video clip is focusing on Ramnagar -Gobardhana road with a bridge on it &  in the backdrop Shivalik hills & fertile green field near Indo-Nepal border.

GREEN LAND,CLEAN LAND, FERTILE LAND, THARU LAND -THARUHAT OF WEST CHAMPA...

Video Uploaded by Dr Ajay Kumar Ojha

This Video clip "From the Eyes of Dr Ajay Kumar Ojha" unfolds  the beautiful scenes of green land, clean land, fertile land Tharu land of Tharuhat of West Champaran Bihar just 1km before Bakhari Bazaar Tharu Schedule Tribe village on Ramnagar-Gobardhana road in the backdrop of majestic Shivalik hills near Indo-Nepal border.  It is claimed that the land of  Tharuhat  is more fertile than that of Punjab. That is why the simple & innocent Tharu tribe of this region has been exploited & fleeced to the maximum and their lands have been grabbed by the people from outside whom they call Baji or Bajian, as they were not declared Schedule Tribe like that of Tharus of Uttar Pradesh and now Uttarakhand also . Existence of many "Estates" or "States" in the form of "Land Farms" are clear testimony to this fact. The Tharu Tribe of West Champaran attained the Schedule Tribe status in 2003 after continuous but peaceful struggle for over more than five decades.
