90 Years Old Radhika Devi Watches Successful Launch of Chandrayaan -2

Ninety years old my mother Radhika Devi, who has a fractured leg, very enthusiastically watched the successful launch of Chandrayaan -2 on Zee TV. Chandrayaan-2 is a fully indigenous mission.

Both the Project Director & the Mission Director are women  - Muthayya Vanitha &  from chedRitu Karidhal respectively. It is pointed out that 30% of ISRO's workforce is female.

The Mission was launched from Sriharikota Space Centre on 22nd July 2019 . It consists of a luner orbiter, lander and rover, all developed domestically.

India would become the fourth country, after USSR, USA and China, to achieve a soft landing on the Moon.

And if successful, Chandrayaan-2 will be the first Mission ever to soft land near the South Pole of the Moon.
