The etymology of the term "Good" in the context of Good Friday is debated. Some opine that it is from the senses pious, holy or the word "good" while others contend that it is a corruption of "God Friday". First etymology is generally supported, giving " of a day or season observed as holy by the church" as an archaic sense of good.
Catholic church treats Good Friday as a fast day. Traditionally no bells are rung on Good Friday or Holy Saturday until the Easter Vigil.
Easter Vigil or the Great Vigil of Easter, is a service held in traditional Christian churches as the first official celebration of Resurrection of Jesus.
