Vasu Sojitra lost his right leg to a blood infection at 9 months old. Rather than letting his disability define him, Vasu has always treated his amputation as a mere hiccup in life.

“Out on a Limb” profiles Vasu's inspiring story and follows him as he ventures deeper into the backcountry to summit peaks, drop into avalanche zones, send cliffs, and ski deep powder lines, all completely unassisted. This outdoor short film leaves audiences wanting more and asks us to reflect on the obstacles in our own lives.[

Vasu played soccer, hockey and skateboarded in school. His parents never treated him any different from his brother. But a hard fall at the age of ten meant he had to give up the artificial limb too.

The grace in his glide belies his disability.Or may be it is his attitude that does it."Disability is a myth. Having one leg isn't a big issue, it's just a hiccup" says Vasu who lives in Connecticut, US.

A mechanical engineer by qualification Vasu's job is that of an Assistant Director for adaptive sports programmes in a non-profit for the disabled.
