FOR A SECTION OF MUSLIM WOMEN "BHAGWAN RAM SYMBOL OF SOCIAL & RELIGIOUS HARMONY"

FOR A SECTION OF MUSLIM WOMEN "BHAGWAN RAM SYMBOL OF SOCIAL & RELIGIOUS HARMONY"

It has been reported that  for a section of Muslim women in Kashi, Bhagwan Ram is the symbol of religious and social harmony.

These Muslim women celebrated the birth of Bhagwan Ram on the occasion of Ramnavami. Later they sang 'sohar'(Childbirth songs of joy) and celebrated 'chhathi' ceremony of Ramlala, the sixth day after the birth. They also prepared 'prasad' for the bhog of Ramlala.

They are of the view that this will not only strengthen the bonding of  Hindu-Muslim but also conserve and popularize sohar singing which is on the brink of getting extinct.

One of these Muslim women Nazneen Ansari has also scripted 'Shri Ram Aarti' and 'Shri Ram Prarthana'. Nazneen opines that Ram is ancestor of all Indians, and his name is a key to all problems.

Nazneen and her fellow members believe that Ayodhya belongs to Ram and if Muslims want respect from Hindus, they should come forward to build  the temple at his birthplace.
