The Animal Care Organization (TACO), a flagship animal welfare initiative by the Anil Agarwal Foundation, today inaugurated a Veterinary Hospital with an Animal Birth Control Unit, in its shelter in Faizupur Khadar, Faridabad (Haryana). The ceremony that was graced by the Deputy Commissioner of Faridabad, Shri. Vikram Singh, IAS, and Priya Agarwal Hebbar, Chairperson, Hindustan Zinc Ltd and Non-Executive Director, Vedanta Ltd, was also marked by the launch of a Mobile Health Van (MHV) to extend TACO’s reach beyond its immediate location in Faridabad.

 

Animals in need of surgeries or diagnostic tests will be able to receive prompt and comprehensive care without the need to be transported elsewhere, at the newly upgraded TACO facility spread across 2 acres. The Veterinary Hospital, ABC Unit and MHV are equipped with an Operating Theatre (OT) each.  Five experienced veterinarians and surgeons have already been employed to diagnose and treat various medical conditions in animals, including complex and critical ones.

 

Talking about the significance of a well-equipped animal shelter, Priya Agarwal Hebbar, Chairperson, Hindustan Zinc Ltd, and Non-Executive Director, Vedanta Ltd. said, “TACO started its journey at this very shelter two years back and I am excited to witness the leap we have made by expanding its infrastructure and services significantly. While our hospital will greatly benefit the community members around, the MHV will travel door to door to attend to those emergency cases that require immediate attention. This facility will provide a range of essential medical services to animals in need, large or small, ensuring that the procedures and treatments are carried out with high standards of care and professionalism, thus creating a safer and a healthier environment for our beloved animals.”

 

Highlighting the efforts by TACO, Shri. Vikram Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Faridabad, said, “I commend The Animal Care Organization (TACO) for their remarkable efforts in supporting animal welfare in our community. The establishment of this animal shelter in Faizupur Khadar, Faridabad, complete with a veterinary hospital, an animal birth control unit, and a mobile health van, reflects their vision to do better and more for animal welfare. I believe that with compassionate projects like TACO, we can make significant strides in creating a more humane and responsible community for all living beings.”

 

The Veterinary Hospital has set up an in-house laboratory with advanced Biochemistry Machine & Hematology Analyzer that will enable the veterinarians with advanced diagnostics and tests.

Animal Birth Control (ABC) unit shall focus on controlling the population of stray animals through spaying and neutering programs. It comprises of seven sections including fully-air-conditioned wards for cats and dogs for their post-operative care and a kitchen to cater to their nutritional requirements.

 

The Mobile Health Van (MHV) shall provide door-to-door veterinary care including vaccinations and treatments to the needy strays as well as livestock and pet owners, within a radius of 20km of the shelter. It is equipped with two treatment tables for animal and best-in-class infrastructure, including hydraulic facility that would facilitate the provision of a raised platform for treatment of large animals. A doctor, a para-veterinarian and a veterinary assistant will travel with the MHV.

 

The newly inaugurated facility has several other key features added as well. An open shaded space will cater to the treatment of OPD cases, and three Travis have been installed to restrain large and aggressive animals and treat them with caution. While a dedicated mother-calf section has been created to cater to pregnant animals, in need of extra care, a section for blind animals has also been built to safeguard them from injuries. TACO facility cultivates fodder within its premises and its storage capacity has also been doubled. It has further employed a sustainable waste management technique through vermicomposting.

 

Earlier this month, AAF’s TACO signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Animal Husbandry Department, Govt of Haryana and Haryana State CSR Trust by earmarking INR 100 crore for the upgradation of existing Government Veterinary Hospital in Kadipur, Gurugram into a 24x7 multi-speciality animal hospital and commence the construction of an animal birth control (ABC) unit, laboratory, pharmacy, training centre and shelter for extremely critical animals. This upcoming hospital in Gurugram along with the one in in Faridabad will equip Haryana state with two mega animal care facilities by TACO.

 

Notably, the TACO shelter in Faridabad is home to 160+ animals, including cows, bulls, and dogs, focusing on rescue, rehabilitation, advanced veterinary care and overall well-being. Since its inception in 2022, it has treated more than 60,000 animals through health camps held across several operational areas of Vedanta group, rescued almost 5,000 animals during the Delhi and Haryana floods, and supported over 460 members of farmer community through animal OPD services. The project has also gainfully employed over 20 locals at the animal shelter in the roles of animal handler, para vet, veterinary assistant and more. Furthermore, TACO's dedication extends to education and training through the TACO Academy, which conducts sessions for veterinarians and paraprofessionals. TACO also supports and strengthens veterinary healthcare services through OPD and ambulance services.

अंगरेजी का अध्ययन - अध्यापन तो ओझा जी ने अवश्य किया पर मन और आत्मा हिन्दी, संस्कृत और भोजपुरी में रमते रहे और अंततः अपनी सृजनात्मक ऊर्जा को हिन्दी के माध्यम से पूर्ण अभिव्यक्ति देने में पूर्णतः सफल रहे। आज हिन्दी जगत में एक निबंधकार, कवि, समीक्षक, पत्र-लेखक के रूप में आचार्य रवीन्द्रनाथ ओझा जाने जाते हैं, पहचाने जाते हैं।  1989 में ‘हंस’ पत्रिका ने प्रबुद्ध पाठक के रूप में ओझा जी का अभिनन्दन किया था और पूर्ण एक पृष्ठ उनके  लेखन-वैशिष्ट्य को अर्पित किया था।

आचार्य रवीन्द्रनाथ ओझा के निबंधों की विद्वानों ने मुक्तकंठ से प्रशंसा की है जिनमें विष्णु प्रभाकर, डॉ रामदरश मिश्र, डॉ पुष्पपाल सिंह, डॉ  चन्द्रकान्त बांदिवडेकर, डॉ सूर्यबाला, डॉ सन्हैयालाल ओझा, डॉ भगवतीशरण मिश्र आदि प्रमुख हैं।  

कुछ  लोग धारा  के विपरीत चलने के ही आदि-अभ्यस्त होते हैं। ऐसा भी हो सकता है कि ऐसा करना उनकी आंतरिक मजबूरी हो, उनकी प्रकृतिगत मजबूरी या फिर उनकी संस्कारगत लाचारी ।  आज जबकि ललित  निबंध विधा मृत या मृतप्राय घोषित हो चुकी है या फिर नितांत अलोकप्रिय, आज जबकि साहित्य के केंद्र में कथा-कहानी उपन्यास विधा ही प्रतिष्ठित हो गयी है, वही सर्वत्र चर्चा के केंद्र में है -  रवीन्द्रनाथ ओझा कुछ ऐसे  सर्जक-व्यक्तियों में हैं जिन्होंने आज के ललित-विरोधी युग  में भी  ललित निबंध को ही अपनी   सृजनात्मक ऊर्जा  की अभिव्यक्ति का मुख्य  माध्यम बनाया है। उनकी दृष्टि में वे इसी विधा में ही अपनी समग्र सृजनात्मक ऊर्जा का समग्र, सम्यक उपयोग कर पाते हैं और इसीलिए उन्होंने अपनी सम्पूर्ण आत्माभिव्यक्ति के परम सुख संतोष के  लिए ही इस विधा को अपनाया है। 

ओझा जी ने अपनी सृजनात्मक अभिव्यक्ति के क्रम में सैकड़ों उत्कृष्ट निबंधों की सर्जना  की  है। निबंध विधा में प्रकाशकों की  अरुचि एवं उनका अविज्ञात, अल्पज्ञात होना ही उनके निबंधों के प्रकाशन में बहुत बड़ा बाधक सिद्ध होता है। 

ओझाजी हिंदी, अंग्रेजी, संस्कृत और भोजपुरी के मर्मज्ञ विद्वान हैं और उनका जीवनानुभव बड़ा व्यापक और विशाल है तथा उनकी चिंतन-मननशीलता गहन-गंभीर।  इसलिए उनके निबंधों में जीवन के इंद्रधनुषी भाव-भंगिमाएं, छवि-छटाएं, रसरंग  प्राप्त होते हैं। इनकी दृष्टि मूलतः मौलिक और समग्रतः मानवीय है  इसलिए इनके निबंधों में एक खास तरह का उदात्तशील संस्कार  प्राप्त होता है जो मानव जीवन को परमोत्कर्ष, परम श्रेयस की ओर प्रेरित करता है। पाठकों की चेतना को उर्ध्वमुखी बनाने में, उनके कायाकल्पिक भावान्तरण करने में इनकी रचनाएँ बड़ी सहायक सिद्ध होती  हैं और सच पूछिए  तो  इसी में इनका लेखन अपना वैशिष्ट्य और सार्थकत्व प्राप्त करता है। 

ओझा जी के निबंध माखनलाल चतुर्वेदी, अध्यापक पूर्ण सिंह, हजारी प्रसाद द्विवेदी, विद्यानिवास मिश्र, कुबेरनाथ राय  की ही परंपरा को विकसित और समृद्ध करते हैं।  ये निबंध इस मानी में विशिष्ट  हैं कि  इनमें शास्त्रीयता का संस्पर्श नगण्य है।  इनमें अनुभव की ताजगी है, अनुभूति की समृद्धि है, दृष्टि की मौलिकता और नवीनता है। ये निबंध सूचनात्मक या उद्धरणात्मक नहीं, बिलकुल सृजनात्मक हैं, शुद्ध रचनात्मक हैं। इनमें जीवन-प्रवाह का स्वाद है, सृष्टि का आस्वाद है, सृजन का आनंद-उजास है। इनमें काव्य, दर्शन, आध्यात्मिकता, मानवीय मूल्य और संवेदनाएं इस कदर अनुस्यूत हैं कि इनका स्वाद और संस्कार बिलकुल भिन्न हो जाता है।  इस दृष्टि से ये पूर्णतः मौलिक और मानवीय हैं तथा हिंदी साहित्य को एक विशिष्ट वैभव से संपन्न करने  का  सामर्थ्य रखते हैं।

 NABARD Observes its 43rd Foundation Day with Continuing Momentum in Rural Finance, Digitalisation, and Climate Resilience

On 12th July, 2024  NABARD commemorated its 43rd Foundation Day with a grand celebration at its Headquarters in Mumbai. The occasion was honoured by eminent guests, stakeholders and well-wishers who have played a critical role in NABARD’s developmental journey.

The highlight of the celebration was a Panel Discussion on "Climate Risk Management and Banking." The panel featured esteemed experts including Dr. Trupti Mishra, Professor at IIT Bombay, Shri Santosh Kumar Singh, MD of Intellecap, and Dr. Sat Singh Tomer, CEO of Satyukt (Start-up). The discussion was adeptly moderated by Shri Vivek Adhia from BCG. In addition, several significant publications were released, and a short film was launched to mark the occasion.

Laying out a brief timeline of the organisation, NABARD Chairman Shri Shaji K. V. discussed NABARD’s journey over the past 4 decades. "Over the past four decades, NABARD has been a cornerstone of rural development in India. From pioneering the SHG-Bank Linkage Program to supporting JLGs and FPOs, our initiatives have empowered millions of rural households and farmers. Our interventions have fostered financial inclusion, enhanced productivity, and driven sustainable development. Embracing digital transformation, we are helping GOI in computerizing 65,000 PACS and integrated Core Banking Solutions in numerous rural cooperative banks. As we continue to innovate and adapt, our mission remains the same: to uplift the rural economy, ensuring prosperity and resilience for all rural communities." stated Shri Shaji K.V.

Mr G.S. Rawat, DMD of NABARD, emphasized on the need to address the issues related to agri and rural sector of the country. "Despite the geographical and infrastructural limitations, our country is among the top 5 producers of the agri-commodity in the world. There is still a credit gap in north eastern regions of the country that needs to be addressed. NABARD is dedicatedly working towards finding solutions to the challenges and bridging the gap by leveraging technology. We need innovations to ensure the credit flow to small farmers from remote areas of the country. Innovation will be a catalyst in enhancing the efficiency of the exiting agri value chain"

Highlighting NABARD's key role in the development and prosperity of rural India, Dr. A.K. Sood, DMD of NABARD, said, "Nothing delivers results like success, and we have consistently increased our credit flow to agriculture, delivering impactful results and touching the lives of millions of farmers over two-and-a-half decades. We are also embracing technology to explore new frontiers in financial inclusion, leveraging fintech for underserved rural India. Our challenges now are new—climate change, water scarcity, and an unceasing spiral of indebtedness among farmers. But shoulder-to-shoulder with all stakeholders, we will continue to strive to build a more inclusive and resilient rural India."

Concluding the event, Shri Shaji K.V. reiterated the pivotal NABARD has to play in realizing the dream of ‘Vikasit Bharat’ by 2047. "We are also looking forward to strengthening the other sectors like fisheries and we believe that our initiatives will help in the growth of rural GDP to support the growth of our country. NABARD has an important role to play in strengthening the foundation of vision of ‘Vikasit Bharat’ by 2047”.

The 43rd Foundation Day celebration of NABARD was a resounding success, reflecting its enduring legacy and future aspirations.
