Kothandaramar Temple Dhanushkodi Rameshwaram India
(All the images are subject to IPR)
Kothandaramar Temple at Rameshwaram Tamil Nadu is a shrine dedicated to Lord Ram. It is located at 13 km from Rameshwaram and forms the southern most tip of the island. The 1964 cyclone washed away Dhanushkodi but the temple, the only historical structure, survived. The temple has the deities of Ram, Sita, Lakshman, Hanuman and Vibhishan.
This is the holy place where Lord Ram conducted "Pattabhishekam of Vibheeshunar" after the battle against Ravan. Vibheeshan was the brother of King Ravan.
Dhanushkodi is around 25 km away from Talaimannar Sri Lanka.
