Do We Remember "16 December (1971) Is Vijay Divas" ?

Vijay Divas is celebrated on 16th December to mark military victory of India over Pakistan in the Indo-Pak War of 1971. But how many of us remember ?
The war lasted for 13 days, after which Pakistan surrendered.
3,843 soldiers of India and Bangladesh sacrificed their lives.
Strength of Indian Army was 5,00,000 (Five Lakhs) and that of Bangladesh Mukti Bahini 1,75,000 (One Lakh Seventy Five Thousand). And Pakistan Army 3,65,000 (Three Lakh Sixty Five Thousand).

India won the war under Gen. Sam Manekshaw and Bangladesh became independent.
Around Ninety Three Thousand members of Pakistan Armed Forces were taken as Prisoners of War by the Indian Army.
Around 9,000 (Nine Thousand) Pakistani soldiers were killed.

The hero of Indo-Pak 1971 war was Second Lieutenant Arun Khetrapal. He broke the spine of Pakistani army by destroying 10 tanks. He was honoured with Paramveer Chakra at the young age of 21 only.
