Manasbal Lake Jammu & Kashmir

Located in Ganderbal district of Jammu & Kashmir India. The name Manasbal is said to be a derivative of the world renowned Mansarovar Lake near Mount Kailash in Tibet. Manasbal lake is stated to be the deepest lake (43 ft depth) in India. It is also one of the largest natural stamping grounds of Aquatic birds in Jammu & Kashmir and supposed to be "supreme gem of all Kashmir Lakes".
The lake is surrounded by the Baladar mountains on the east, by an elevated plateau known as 'Karewa' on the north and bounded by the Ahtung hills in the south.
