The first BJP ruled Assam Government has decided that all public offices should display the portrait of Ahom General Lachit Borphukan. The order applies to all educational institutes, boards, corporation , as well as autonomous bodies and agencies.This decision was taken to keep the legacy of Lachit Borphukan alive in the national life of Assam and portrait to reflect the legendary warrior's bravery.
