Saraighat Bridge is the first road-cum-rail bridge over the Brahmaputra river in Guwahati Assam India joining the north and south banks at Saraighat, opened for passenger traffic on 7th June 1963. Saraighat is a historical place where fight between Mughals & Ahoms took place . Ahoms triumphed in this fight. Ahoms were rulers of Assam from the 12 century for about 600 years.
