The Naranag Temple Complex is located in the foothills of  Bhuteshwar range. Bhuteshwar is manifestation of Lord Shiva. Bhuteshwar now called 'Butsher' by Local Gujjars

Ancient Naranag Temple Complex where Kalhan is believed to have written "Rajtarangini" (River of Kings), an account of the history of Kashmir. According to Kalhan Srinagar was built in the 3rd Century BC, and Shaivite Temples in 220 BC and also Mathas in Wangath Valley around the Holy Spring  of Naranag. The Wangath Temples were built in three groups around the same time as the Shankaracharya Temple in Srinagari and Bumzuva Temple in Martand (Mattan)
