Kuttanadu is a region in Kerala well-known for its vast picturesque paddy fields & geographical uniqueness. It is the area with lowest altitude in India. It is also one of the few places in the world where farming is carried out below sea level.

Kuttanadu is the major rice granary of Kerala where vast stretches of verdant , green paddy fields are interlaced with backwaters thus creating arresting & amazing spectacular sights.

Kuttanadu is famous for its farming 4 to 10 feet below the sea level with rice being the most important agricultural product. This activity gives the area its moniker of "Rice Bowl of Kerala".
