The fruits of these trees are sold about three years in advance for the daughter's marriage. Trees are just like their fixed deposits.

With a population of around 7000, the village has more than one lac fully grown trees mostly of mango and lychee. From a distance the village looks like a forest or let us say a dense green patch amidst the dry, parched and arid cluster of villages in the area. And most of the the people can be found sitting in the cool orchards outside their homes.

The tree-planting has been going in the village for generations. This is the way of meeting the challenges of dowry, pollution, global warming and female foeticide or dowry death in this village.
Worth emulating for every village & also panacea for many evils. Is not it?
