A young Tharu ( Schedule Tribe since 2003) belonging to Bakhari Bazaar Village of West Champaran Bihar (India) is a teacher, a surveyor, a lawyer, a farmer, a preacher. Not only these. He has the knowledge of more than 400 medicinal/herbal plants most of which can be found in his "Kola" or "Bari" that is a small garden.
He came to know about the qualities/properties of these plants slowly & gradually over a period of time while trying to treat his father and later his mother.
Let us visit his Bari and see some of the medicinal plants:

The name of the young Tharu is Yogendra Mahto son of late Shankar Mahto.
