Radhadesh | Country of Radha | Only One ISKCON Temple in Belgium | Belgium | Hare Krishna Temple

Radhadesh | Country of Radha | Only One ISKCON Temple in Belgium | Belgium | Hare Krishna Temple

Radhadesh is one of the many ISKCON-affiliated temples in Europe. It is a non-profit organization. Its maintenance primarily depends upon donations,  tourism,  and income from the retreat, shop and restaurant. The name Radhadesh comes from Radha, the love interest of Lord Krishna, and 'desh', which means country. So the place is called ' Country of Radha '.

There are over 135 ISKCON-affiliated temples and cultural centres in Europe but Radhadesh is the only one in Belgium. The ISKCON movement in Europe is home to a number of  rural and farming communities.

Radhadesh is a self sufficient spiritual community located near the town of Durbuy in Belgium. Around one hundred and  forty devotees of Hare Krishna Movement (ISKCON) live in the 19th century Radhadesh castle. It is also known as Chateau de Petite Somme. It is a place unlike any other in Belgium where Indian and Hindu cultures & festivals are celebrated.

The terrace of Radhadesh castle offers a stunning view over Belgian Ardennes. The Ardennes, situated in the south-east of Belgium, are one of nature's unspoilt  areas rich in fauna and flora.
