In   the Indian state of  Jammu & Kashmir Thongsal, a luxury resort in Leh ( Ladakh)   is within walking distance to Shanti Stupa, Leh market & Chagspa. It offers a spectacular view of Leh Town.

One of the first Hotels in Leh, Thongsal (built in 1993) has been recently renovated. It has opened doors to welcome Guests to the rooftop of the world, Leh, Ladakh. Thongsal does not only promise but actually extends unsurpassed hospitality and best services all year along.

When we reached at the reception we were warmly greeted in the cold weather and traditionally welcomed - a rare gesture  rarely to be found.

An expert came hurriedly and explained about the problems faced on arrival in Leh which is located at a very high altitude and oxygen rarefied.

Advised us to take rest, acclimatize ourselves with the climate of Leh, to take a lot of water or liquid as one does not feel taking meal, to avoid non-vegetarian food at least for a day, to walk in slow pace as one gets tired very soon. So much of useful information in one go.

We were very happy with the behaviour of the room service staff & other staff and wanted to give some tips but we saw TIP Box in the corner of reception. So  we did not find reasonable to give without taking the suggestion from manager. Manager of the hotel Thongsal  told that we have kept a TIP box so that tourists or guests should drop  their tips in the box itself and the same is distributed among the boys. Great. This norm will not only save the resort from  vitiating the atmosphere but also the boys will continue to get incentives equally.

Is not it different ? Is not it unique?
