Kokernag or "Papashuddhan Nad" - The Medicinal Waterfall Jammu & Kashmir

Situated at 2,020 m height Kokernag is around 70 km away from Srinagar in the Anantnag district of Jammu & Kashmir. This spring is surrounded by blooming gardens and bubbles at seven places at the foot of the forested mountain. The water of Kokernag spring is believed to have medicinal and digestive properties.Due to these properties the spring is also popularly known as "Papashuddhan Nad" or "the cleaner of sins". There is also a botanical garden and rose garden in Kokernag complex. It is also the largest fresh water spring of the Kashmir Valley. The spring with curative properties, is favourite picnic spot of not only  tourists but local visitors also who can be seen enjoying family lunch and relishing the digestive spring water.
