Doodhpathri is a fast developing tourist destination & hill station in Jammu & Kashmir. It is situated in Budgam district at an altitude of 8,957 ft and at a distance of 42 km from state summer capital Srinagar.
The literal meaning of this place is "Valley of Milk". It has been recently developed as beautiful resort with carpet like meadows. The area is rich in production of milk, hence the name 'Doodhpathri'. It is also believed that the cattle who graze in the meadows of this place, give large quantity of milk hence the name.
Whatever may be the reason for its name 'Doodhpathri'. It is surrounded by marvellous meadows with emerald grass. A remarkable river flows in the middle of the meadows, dancing and reverberating with the wind, adding to the place splendid charm and vibrancy. Let us be amidst delightful 'Doodhpathri' and have a feel of the place by watching this video.
