Verinag Spring is the major source of Vitasta (Jhelum) river situated in the Anantnag district of Jammu & Kashmir.It is 26 km away from Anantnag and 78 km from Srinagar - summer capital of Jammu & Kashmir. A shivlinga can be seen in one of the arcs -the very first on the left hand side of the entry of the spring. The spring is an important tourist destination in the Kashmir valley.
