Let Us Not  Defile the Piousness of 'Qurbani' or Sacrifice by Killing Animals

Qurbani or sacrifice is a very pious & positive word. It means sacrificing one's life for the welfare of someone or something very close to him or her. Mother sacrifices for the good of her children. Soldier sacrifices his life for safety of his motherland. 

Why not contractors of religion sacrifice their lives for the good of the people, for the good of the society, for the good of their country or for the good of humanity. Why to sacrifice innocent, harmless Goats or other animals in the name of religious practices of any religion?

 If we cannot give life to anyone, we have no right to take life of anyone? Or if we want to sacrifice or do qurbani why not sacrifice one's dearest & closest ? Once you do the qurbani of one's dearest or closest you will come to realize the pain & sufferings of sacrificing any living beings if at all some piety or kindness left in you.

All the religions preach for humanity, preach for love, preach for kindness, preach for piety, preach for non-violence. In the name of religion so many innocent people are being killed daily in all parts of the earth latest being the dastardly killing in Bangladesh.

Why not the contractors of religion come out openly for condemning such attacks and do qurbani of their barbarous impulses, qurbani of their bad habits, qurbani of their savage acts, qurbani of their  demoniac attitudes for saving  humanity.  

Irfan Khan has also rightly raised the issue of 'Qurbani' or sacrifice saying its true meaning is renunciation and not killing. The meaning of Qurbani is to sacrifice something which is close to you instead of any goat or sheep which one just buy to sacrifice. Before sacrificing we should share a bond with that thing, otherwise just killing of an animal will not serve the purpose. 

It is very unfortunate that now-a-days we have lost the relevance behind such religious activities and perform these rituals without knowing the meaning behind them. And that is why the contractors of 'religion' mastermind the mindless killings of innocent people. No religion can be against humanity. If  any religion is, then it ceases to be religion in the true sense of the term.
