Sagol Kangjei or Kangjai -bazee or Pulu of Magnificent Manipur India

This video clip "From the Eyes of Dr Ajay Kumar Ojha" gifts to viewers the modern game of Polo which has its origin in Manipur India though formalized and popularized by British. It is known as Sagol Kangjei or Kangjai-bazee or Pulu in Manipur. This was one of the three forms of hockey in Manipur, the other ones being field hockey called Khong Kangjei and wrestling hockey called Mukna Kangjei. In Manipur, Polo is traditionally played with seven players to a side.The players are mounted on the indigenous Manipuri pony. There are no goal posts and a players scores simply by hitting the ball out of either end of the field.The oldest pologround in the world is Imphal Polo Ground in Manipur State of India. The Manipur Polo has been one of the seven games played in the Indigenous Games Festival held in Imphal from 10th to 12th December 2015.
