Near world famous Qutab Minar Complex Delhi , there is Mehrauli Archaeological Park which houses a number of old structures mostly belonging to Medieval period.  Structures before that  period might have been demolished or  destroyed completely by the foreign invaders.

Jamali Kamali  is situated in Mehrauli Archaeological Park on Mehrauli Gurgaon road. It is a quite known structure and always attracts visitors. It is supposed to be a haunted place.

Jamali Kamali  Mosque and Tomb comprise two monuments adjacent to each other . One is the mosque and the other is the tomb of two persons with the names Jamali and Kamali.

Jamali was the  alias given to Shaikh Fazlu'llah. He was a renowned sufi saint. Belonging to Sunni merchant family he was indoctrinated to Sufism by Sheik Samauddin. He was a popular poet who travelled widely around Asia and the Middle East. He became court poet during Lodi Dynasty. His poetry mirrored Persian Mysticism of the times.

Kamali was an unknown person but associated with Jamali. His antecedents have not been established.

Their names were were tagged together as "Jamali Kamali" for the mosque as well as tomb and the whole complex is popularly known as Jamali Kamali.

The vast and attractive structure of Jamali Kamali attracts the visitors from a distance when one enters in Mehrauli Archaeological Park.

Jamali Kamali has been built in red stones with marble embellishments. It is claimed to be forerunner in the design of Mughal mosque architecture in India. The walls of the structure are adorned with inlaid coloured tiles inscribed with Jamali poems.
