CHINESE DANCING TO THE TUNE OF 'HARE KRISHNA' : UNBELIEVABLY TRUE

CHINESE DANCING TO THE TUNE OF 'HARE KRISHNA' : UNBELIEVABLY TRUE

Can any one believe that Chinese will dance to the tune of "Hare Krishna'? That too in the capital Beijing. Such events were till now very difficult to be held in Communist China which does not encourage any kind of such activity.

But it was a rare event, rare feat, rare sight. Over 200 Chinese singing kirtans and dancing to the tune of 'Hare Krishna' in Beijing on Saturday, 1st of August 2015.

This points towards change taking place in Chinese society. Though slowly but surely. Only material achievement is not enough for the development and satisfaction of human being. That may be one of the region people in China moving towards spirituality and responding enthusiastically to Krishna kirtans as per a senior monk of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON).

This change in attitude started with explaining some basic aspects of GITA concerning the endless human search for happiness, and not pleasure. They were also told about the importance of the 'Hare Krishna' mantra. A group of over 200 Chinese responded surprisingly well to exhortations to chant mantra. Not only that. They opened up suddenly and went ecstatic dancing with the monks and volunteers. It was a rare sight. One could not  believe one's eyes and ears  looking at Chinese people dancing to religious kirtans.

Chinese people are not illiterate or uneducated. They might have done this with full understanding and realizing the enormous serene spiritual impact of the kirtans on their mind and body. It seems there is a strong desire for spiritual fulfillment in China.

Is not it unbelievable?
